Four Pillars
Economic Development
CFC acknowledges the impact economics play on the development of families and children in high poverty areas. From a lack of quality programs, proper infrastructure to providing support, and information sharing of strategies on how to achieve and maintain financial wellbeing, CFC will bridge the gap by developing strategies around financial literacy and economic development. The understanding of basic economic principles and prudent cash management will empower generations of black families to not only thrive to move the entire community forward.
Mental Health
Through dialogues and personality assessments, we will help students establish potential post-high school career paths. We will pair them with mentors and internships in designated fields to provide job experience, exposure, in addition to educational and career opportunities.
Education
In 2020 Michigan ranked third worst in the nation for bachelor degrees earned by Black students. CFC is dedicated to improving those numbers by providing group and individual tutoring, with a focus on the STEM curriculum. We will also help in the preparation for standardized testing (E.G., SAT and ASVAB) and provide scholarships for post high school paths.
Mentorship
Quality mentoring enhances student’s chances of success. Success in school and beyond. CFC is committed to providing professional mentorship to students, building a bridge to positive contributors to society. Through dialogues and personality assessments, we will help students navigate potential post high school career paths. Our goal is to pair them with a mentor and internships in desired field to provide job experience, exposure, they would otherwise not receive.
